Flat Rock is such an undiscovered treasure in the vast mountains of North Carolina. It houses a number of historical delights, including the Carl Sandburg home and the Flat Rock Playhouse, and a large number of hiking/mountain trails. It seems that a number of the attractions in Flat Rock are in walking distance from one another or just a short drive away. Flat Rock, NC is also within driving distance to Asheville, NC and the famous Biltmore Estate. There are also a number of amazing and hospitable bed and breakfast inns, but the best one is the Flat Rock Inn Bed and Breakfast, which is run by Sandi and Dang Jalerpan; they will even help you find other exciting things to do in the town. They are very friendly and warm and will either give you your space or spend time with you, telling you stories about Hawaii or the town of Flat Rock.
